Telling someone they’re going to use a particular program and creating a meeting is a lot more secure and doesn’t seem like a viable approach. If they send a presentation about their program to some professor that you feel like they should get involved with and need to take their information out with some other professor, then they’ll get involved, but they don’t want to share that information with the campus department.
