What is the importance of collaboration in Business Intelligence teams? Is it even possible that best-practice evidence of collaboration patterns can lead to better practices? Can collaborative research be replicated among Business Intelligence teams to better understand how collaboration structures work? On a much deeper level, if we limit what we do about metadata, data engineering, model design, communications engineering and code modeling, we can improve our understanding of the interactions among employees and the hierarchy of relationships between employees and these can accelerate processes and make it possible to better model the practices happening in the work teams. In this paper, we hope to answer the question of how meaningful and effective the collaboration in a work-team that represents the teams is. Without testing further on how a team works alongside its peers, we think there may still be room for improvement if the team can look for ways to bridge the gaps. We think this would be important for many reasons and do not worry about the question of the importance of teams in the design of projects. It should be interesting to answer some other questions in this journal. In addition, we think focusing on these questions may lead to the design of reusable artifacts that can help get better group-based best practice and better training among teams. Working independently through these gaps, doing research may perhaps work better.
